Why Can't You Achieve Your Goals?

A lot of people know and understand that goals are needed in order to be successful. They set their goals with the intention of achieving them sometime in the future. Can you already see the vagueness here? The performance of goals that are defined need to be specific with dates and concrete steps towards the intended goal in order to believe that it will happen. We will deal with the common problems of motivation that people have when they set goals and why they don't achieve them within this article.
Goals are created to enhance people's lives. If they are too general in nature then the results will reflect the same perception. A general goal will result in a general result. That is not what people want. I know it and you know it. The more specific that a goal is stated the more specific the results will be. For example making a statement to the effect that I want to be in shape is not the same as I want to lose 20 lbs. in the next 2 months. Specific activities statements start the mind working on what needs to be done in order to accomplish that goal.
You need to be accountable to someone about your goals. If no one knows about your goals then no one will care. Without telling anyone about your intentions on what you want to accomplish no one would be the wiser on whether or not you have achieved your goal. You need to be proud that you achieved your goal. You need to tell the world what you did and how you did it. This is another common factor why people do not achieve their goals. They don't tell anyone about it.
Finding and correcting the problems with goal setting can be an exhilarating experience for a person. Having experienced success in achieving your goals through a support group or a program that supports you needs to be cherished. Understanding the proper way to write your goals and the steps needed to achieve them can change your life the moment you write it down.
Meaningful goals are sometimes difficult to achieve. They were not meant to be easy but they were created to stretch your imagination and to be disciplined in your work efforts. There will be obstacles that will test your resourcefulness but they will show up in your life for a purpose. They are there to test your resolve to see if you really want to achieve that goal. How bad do you want it will be the key phrase that you need to understand.

A Winning Disposition

What is it about some people that has them always standing in the winning circle? Is it really that they are so much more talented than others or is it something else? Certainly talent is a contributing factor but maybe equally important is their mind set and their outlook. They simply see themselves as winners. When we look at superstars slamming down on the basketball backboards or punishing their opponents with repeated blows with their boxing gloves or whatever sports they are involved with, we notice a confidence that is every bit as intimidating as their great physical abilities. They display a focus so intense that it seems it cannot be diminished.
They are determined to win and that exactly what they typically do.
Unfortunately, for every one of those with the winning mentality, there appear to be thousands who see themselves in just the opposite way. They feel perhaps that they are less talented, less prepared and sometimes less deserving. It is hard to deny that an attitude such as that can have a profound effect on results. Many times it is just that spark of confidence that pushes one to be far better than he would otherwise be.
So, how does one develop or incorporate that attitude and is it even possible for that to happen? Certainly optimism is essential. One has to keep telling themselves over and over that they are capable to doing significant things and eventually over time they can come to actually believe that is true. People are capable of amazing things, far more than they realize. All too often, we are our own worst enemies as we continually sabotage ourselves with our negative attitudes and feelings of inadequacy.
While it is true that everyone has bad days and times when they are not feeling at their very best it is also true that those times can be very temporary. Positive thinking can help to get us back on the track so much faster than being mired in feelings of our inability to succeed. Sometimes the secret is to just keep trying. Not being afraid to fail and then when we do come up short being willing to try again and again until success is achieved is the winning recipe. It is a proven truth that doing things over and over improves our abilities to do them. Not giving up is crucial, as is keeping our attitude positive.

Where Are You Going? 10 Steps To Creating Your Ideal Life

It is always important to ask yourself, "Where am I going?" This question is meant to be introspective and refers to where you are headed in life. It is an invaluable question you need to answer and reflect on often. The reason is that without asking yourself this, you may just fall into a life that you are not happy with or a life that does not allow you to meet your true potential.
So, where are you going?
To answer this question there are other questions that precede it and strategies to consider. Here are 10 steps that will help you in creating your ideal life.
Step 1: Take a look at yourself. I don't mean in the mirror, I mean look at your situation and ask yourself "Is this where I want to be right now?" Some of you may say "yes" but my guess is that more people will answer "no". In order to figure out where you are going in your future you have to look at where you are now, this is your starting point.
Step 2: Ask yourself "What does my ideal life look like?" To truly answer this you need to set aside all restrictions and honestly answer it. The reason this question is so powerful is because it gives you insight and direction into what YOU really want.
Step 3: Evaluate your answer. Is your answer realistic? Is it attainable? Is it a life that YOU can make happen? For example, if you said you want to win the lottery, marry Channing Tatum and move to the south of France, I'm going to guess that's probably not going to happen. BUT even if you gave an unrealistic answer it is telling. In this scenario, you could say "I want to be financially secure, I want to marry someone with similar characteristics to Channing Tatum and I eventually want to visit or move to the south of France." Those goals are attainable. So restructure your answer to "What does your ideal life look like?" to make it possible.
Step 4: Decide what you will work on first to get you closer to the life you want. If you want to make several changes in your life, pick ONE thing first. If your ideal life is far off from where you are now it may be overwhelming. In order for change to occur, you need to pick one thing to focus on at a time. Pick the most important thing to work on first.
Step 5: Make a plan on how you are going to make that first change. Commit to it and take steps to get there. For example, if you are dissatisfied with you job or you don't know what you want to be when you grow up, YOU have to decide what that is and make a plan. Ask yourself, "what am I good at? What do I love to do? What am I passionate about? What type of job would I be successful at?" Once you have the answer, you can make a plan.
Step 6: Work towards that goal! Set action steps towards your goal. Write down ways that work for you. You have to make a dedicated effort to change something in your life. Write down and evaluate the steps that are working for you and the ones that aren't. Readjust those steps as you work towards your goal.
Step 7: Be patient. Change doesn't happen overnight but if you are working towards making your life better, I guarantee you will be happier. Be proud of yourself that you are taking initiative in creating the life that you were meant to have.
Step 8: Stay motivated. Wherever you personally find motivation and inspiration, do it! YOU have to keep yourself motivate to accomplish your goals and to create your future.
Step 9: Always keep the vision of your ideal life in the back of your mind. Don't let that vision go! Focus on it, work on it and make it your reality. Once you have accomplished your first goal, get to work on the next one. Keep going until you are where you want to be.
Step 10: Remember to enjoy your small accomplishments, remember to stay positive and most of all remember that it is up to YOU to decide where you are going in life and YOU can create you ideal life!

Live Your Life With Joy

So brings with it so many peaks and valleys. We have our ups and downs; good times and bad. Needless to say, it can become very overwhelming and sometime the thought of throwing in the towel feels and sounds much easier and less gruesome than fighting the good fight until the desired result is attained. Am I stepping on your baby toe here? I hope that I am because that means that you're reading the article that is going to inflict change upon your life.
As you encounter challenges in life, it is vital to understand and remind yourself often that it's not forever! Living life is like going experiencing the change in seasons. You have a season of winter, spring, summer and fall. Within each season, there is an experience of beauty and not so much beauty. The important thing to remember is that each season is temporary.
Just like the season that you're in now. It maybe hard on every side. It may seem like life is squeezing the life out of you. It may feel like you are about to exhale for the last time. It's painful. It wrenching, but I have great news for you my friend. Your season is about to change. You're close to the end of this season and your breakthrough is closer than you think.
Lift up your head! Be encouraged. You have survived this one. You made it! Your change is coming. All you have to do is encourage yourself, surround yourself with positive people, and maintain your hope.
So how do you encourage yourself? Read positive and self improvement books, listen to uplifting audio and speak positive affirmations. I'll be honest with you, initially this will not be easy. It may seem ineffective initially, but I promise you that as long as you continue to do all of the above, you'll begin to feel the change. You'll even see the shift that will take place in your life.
You must also evaluate the company that you keep as well. This one, out the three, is the most challenging because we never want to consider those closest to us to be the most harmful for us. The truth my friend, is that your friends and family can be your greatest blessing and hindrance. Since they are closest to us, they are the most influential. They can add to our lives or subtract from our lives. So, make a list of all of the people you hang around most. Ask yourself whether these people are uplifting, supportive, encouraging, and honest. If so, keep those individuals in your life. If they are negative, dishonest, jealous, and/or non-supportive, it is time to separate or reduce your time with these people. It hurts, but I promise you, that it is the best decision that you'll ever make for yourself.
So do something for yourself and choose you!

Success Concept - Desire

There are many elements one requires to achieve success. In a series of articles discussing success concepts, I have stated that I believe passion and vision are two key pieces to the puzzle. Desire is another essential element. Dictionary.com states that desire means to long for or crave. The fuel that fires your passion, desire is what keeps your eyes on the ultimate prize of success.
You need to have a strong will to achieve rather than just wanting something. Wanting is just a wish, and that is not enough to drive you. Watch a baby learn how to walk, and you will see what true desire looks like. How often do they wobble, stumble, and fall - over and over again - before they succeed? They will keep falling, pulling themselves back up, holding on, and eventually will walk without assistance. These toddlers experience that internal fire to achieve. They are driven with a desire to succeed!
Whatever success means to you, the desire to reach your ultimate goal must be within. There are many who state they want a high-level job in a large corporation, to own their own business, to be independent, to be wealthy, to be well known in their community, to complete a marathon, or many other visions of what being successful represents to them. Sitting on the couch watching television and thinking about it will not make it happen. You must have a deep, burning desire to achieve, which means you must act on it.
You must train, run regularly, and eat right to achieve the marathon dream. You might have to return to school to earn a college degree to be considered for that corporate position. Possibly determining a budget, sacrificing unnecessary purchases, and saving will be required of you to have wealth. To own your own business could require finding the right person to mentor and coach you. Each of these represents the need for a desire to begin acting on what you want.
Break it down into simplistic terms; think of going on a trip. You might want to go some place. However, wanting is just wanting. Instead, if you have the desire, you will make plans, map out your route, make reservations, and put gas in the car. Without the fuel, you're going nowhere. All the thinking and wanting and planning will be wasted time without the fuel to make it happen. The deep, burning desire to achieve success comes from the deep desire to crave it.
How strong is your desire for success?

Gratitude, A Journey To Perfect Balance

Is having balance an important trait to have in your life? This is a question that could be worth asking yourself. The idea of balance could be one of the more important concepts that you come across. Indeed the idea of balance is seen in many aspects of life. Balance could be one of the most important things that could add the greatest value to your life. So let us look at the idea of perfect balance and gratitude, and if gratitude can lead to a life of perfect balance.
Life As A Journey
It has been said that life is a journey and not a destination, what does this mean and what is the benefits of understanding this concept. Many people seem to be always looking at life in terms of reaching a destination, but could it be more worthwhile taking your time and enjoying the journey? This could be looked on as the difference between taking a quick route and taking a scenic route. A quick route will get you to your destination quicker, however a scenic route could prove to be more enjoyable and satisfying. The point here is that the way that you look at life could have a very phenomenal impact on the value you gain from life.
The Importance of Real Balance
The need for balance in life should not be underestimated. If you look at the idea of a wheel on a car, you note that if a wheel has not been balanced you could find that the Tyre would tend to wear out quicker. However if the Tyre has been correctly balanced you could find that the Tyre has a much more extended life period. So applying a similar idea to life, you could see that balance could be found to be essential to having and living a live that brings greater joy and many other benefits.
Gratitude a Fuel for your Journey
One of the essential articles that you could find that you need in the journey of life you may find is developing the habit of showing real gratitude for the things that you have in life. Often it could be found that many important things are taken for granted. This could prove to be very dangerous, as things taken for granted could be lost forever if they are not properly looked after. This could prove very sad, because with a little thought, and gratitude you could begin to value the things that you currently take for granted. By encouraging the attitude of gratitude you could find that your life becomes much more rewarding. Because having a change outlook on life could be a transformational change in your life.
Journey to Gratitude
You may find that the journey to living a life of gratitude might prove to be one of the more rewarding things that you might discover in your life. Indeed, by mastering the ability to live a life of gratitude may be found to help you in many aspects of your life. Gratitude could be the key that allows you to find new joy in all the things currently in and around your life. You may in-fact find that things that you may have taken for granted might in-fact be new treasures and sources of pure joy.

Keep Believing In Yourself

Life is not easy, and sometimes it can be extremely difficult. Dark clouds may crowd out the sunshine and make life miserable. It is easy to beat yourself up when things are not going right. You may blame yourself for everything that is going wrong in your life. If you want to improve yourself and your condition, you must believe in yourself.
Often we equate success in life with the amount of money we have. People should realize that life is not all about money. Although a certain amount of money is necessary to take care of the basic necessities of life, it should not be the end all. Indeed, having an abundance of money can bring more comfort and freedom into anyone's life, but it does not necessarily create happiness.
We should not condemn ourselves for our lack of money or lack of success in this life. We need to keep believing in ourselves in order to achieve anything. It is not too late for older people who may be in the sunset of their years to accomplish something meaningful. Even if the years have passed by too quickly and the winter of one's life has approached, it is not a time to give up.
Whether you are young or even if you are a senior citizen, it is important to not give up on yourself. You should keep believing in yourself and your abilities, dreams, and goals. Some people think they are too young or too old to accomplish anything substantial in life. It may seem that way when measurable successes are not evident. There should always be hope and belief for the future.
Margaret had surgery as a senior citizen. She fully expected her recovery to be complete and quick, which it was not. She was still having major problems six months later. She was starting to be discouraged and depressed about it. She thought she was doing everything right, but she decided that maybe her belief level was not high enough. Perhaps she was letting the discouragement affect her mindset which was holding her back. She determined to believe in herself and her ability to become healed. With the positive images and goals which she was able to put into her mind, her recovery began to be better.
When he started a home based business to supplement his income from his full time job, Jerry expected it to be an easy matter to bring in some extra money. He did not have to put out a lot of cash to get started in his network marketing business. He saw others who were wildly successful and earning good money. He became discouraged when things did not move quickly in the business. He found that he needed to put more belief in himself and his abilities. He was encouraged enough to put in extra time and effort so he did start to see some success.
Attitude is important in life, and believing in yourself and your abilities can make all the difference in the world.

5 Things: How Badly Do You Want to Get to Your Financial Goals?

There are two types of people in the world - those who talk about things and those who make things happen.
I like to think I'm in the second bunch.
Thing is, I hear lots of people say they want to live without credit, travel more, pay off their bond, etc, etc. but not many of those people will get there if they don't have these 5 things in place:
Clarity of vision
You can't be fuzzy about your financial goals. Your vision should be as clear as if it is already reality.
Many years ago my husband and I decided to buy our first property. We looked around and realised that we needed a 10% deposit as well as the transfer and attorneys' fees. It was far more than we had in savings so we put our dream on hold for a bit. However, our vision was very clear and over that next year we saved like crazy and bought our first property "on time".
Perseverance
Once you know where you want to be, you don't let go of that vision and the work to get there... ever. It's hard when all around you people are "living it up" even if sometimes living it up just means eating out occasionally. That's the ideal time to remind yourself of your dream.
Impatience is good
I think this is the one place where it's good to be impatient. I'm an impatient person but I get SUPER impatient when I'm close to achieving a financial goal. It's almost like the end is so close I just can't wait anymore and so I work super hard and usually do it in just a month or two.
I've paid off my last two cars like this when the end was in sight (another 6 months to go).
Flexibility
I talk a lot about this in the goals pack but you need to be nimble to navigate obstacles and... let me warn you, obstacles always come.
You're this close to paying off an account when suddenly you need new tyres on your car or some extra x-rays not covered by the medical aid.
Don't let these unexpected expected expenses (!) derail you - it's just life, not a lesson to teach you you'll never be debt-free.
Keep focussed and work your plan.
Relentless pursuit
This point might sound a bit like perseverance but it's not. Perseverance is keeping on while relentless pursuit means to actually chase after something with single-minded focus.
That could mean selling one car and sharing a car with your husband so you can pay off your debt faster.
It could mean maintaining your standard of living even while getting salary increases and bonuses.
The beauty of a financial dream is that the harder you work at all of these things, the shorter the time you have to do it.
If you dibble dabble, however, you may be stretching towards your goal forever.

Tips for Navigating Through Life

1. LOVE YOURSELF--Probably the most important tip for anyone is to love yourself just the way you are. The more you love and appreciate yourself, the more those around you appreciate you. We are all unique expressions of pure positive energy. We weren't put here to fit into a mold and to conform to anyone else's standards. Appreciate your own unique beauty and talents.
2. COMPLAIN LESS-APPRECIATE MORE-- Be grateful for all the wonderful people and things in your life. Point your attention to the things in your life that ARE working out well. Appreciate the good things around you. The more you appreciate exactly where you are right now, the more life sends you other good things to appreciate.
3. CONTROL WHAT YOU CAN-Catch yourself when you start to complain about some external event and remind yourself to control what you can; your thoughts and your reaction to situations. You have the power to shift your perspective on any situation to something more positive simply by adjusting your thoughts. There will always be times in your life that are unsettling. That's normal. It is during those times that you redefine what it is that you truly want from life. From the unsettling times comes more clarity. So, if you can train yourself to bless those moments and focus on what it is you DO want instead, you will gradually see your life shape up the way you want it to.
4. WORDS ARE POWERFUL. USE THEM WELL -- Use your words to uplift, encourage and motivate. Words are very powerful. Add your voice to the many that are already singing positive "songs"!! There is power in numbers and light always wins over darkness!!
5. YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE "PERFECT"-- We are works in progress. We were not born to already have all the answers or to be "perfect". How boring would that be? We're here to sort through life's circumstances; the good, the not so good, the phenomenal. We're here to figure out which of those experiences bring us joy and to seek out more of those. We're here to realize that everyone else may have different preferences, but that's OK! Today, think about molding the clay of your life any way you want. And, tomorrow, feel free to remold and start again! Enjoy your life as it progresses. You're doing great!!!!
6. YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE-- You get what you give in this life. Send out loving, kind thoughts and you get those reflected back to you. However, the step many forget is that the most important love we can give is our love of self. When we love ourselves, take care of ourselves, and respect ourselves, then we set the tone for how others react to us. Love yourself and send that love out into the world!
7. EVERYDAY IS A NEW DAY--Every day is a new chapter. You get to decide to turn the page. Each night before you go to sleep make it your intention to rest well and let the day be done. In the morning, awaken in your comfortable bed and spend just a few moments in gratitude and appreciation for all of the blessings in your life. Leave the negative stuff behind and start on the new story of your own fabulous life!
8. ALWAYS REACH FOR JOY -- If you had a choice to head towards joy or sorrow, which way would you turn? Well, you DO have that choice, every moment of every day. Of course, some situations in life make it hard to feel joyous, but if you make it your intention to feel as good as you can, you will find that things go smoother for you. Your focus helps to create your experience. Reach for the thoughts that make you feel as good as you can and you with weather all the ups and downs of life.

Anxiety Disorder Treatment in Your Workplace: 10 Ways to Reduce Stress

Anxiety disorder treatment is something that can be put into action basically any time and anywhere. Use these 10 ways to reduce stress at the workplace for healthier stress management and an easier time at work and throughout the day.
Anxiety Disorder Treatment
Some of the methods for anxiety disorder treatment are quite simple to enact and may be practised in various settings outside of therapy sessions and other therapy environments. There are several methods for relaxation and stress management that can be incorporated as daily habits or lifestyle activities that can assist with anxiety such as breathing techniques and meditation.
1: Take time out to breathe.
Practice breathing exercises throughout the day or even meditate for a few minutes as an easy and relaxing anxiety disorder treatment.
2: Listen to relaxing music.
If you listen to music at work, listen to relaxing music. The music should be calming and soothing such as classical styles, lounge world music, slow jazz, or soothing sounds of nature. For example, individuals with road rage could listen to relaxing music in traffic rather than heavier styles such as techno or rock and roll to avoid getting extra nervous or anxious in the vehicle.
3: Slow down on the caffeine.
Avoid caffeine altogether if you can manage as an anxiety disorder treatment. If not, go easy on the caffeine because caffeine increases anxiety levels. For heavy coffee drinkers, it may be a good idea to first start with decreasing your intake, such as drinking coffee first thing in the morning and then substituting the subsequent cups with green tea.
4: Wake up early...
Starting the day with time to relax and get ready at your own pace is priceless. Enjoy arriving to work on time and not having to rush or worry about being late.
5:... but be sure to get enough sleep.
You don't necessarily have to get eight hours, but go to bed early enough to ensure a good night's sleep.
6: Eat a proper breakfast and lunch.
An empty stomach or a stomach filled with empty calories or too much sugar is primed for stress.
7: Be prepared.
One surefire way to get the anxiety going is to show up to work unprepared for meetings or presentations. With advance planning and preparation, you can reduce the stress surrounding a major event.
8: Get organized.
Organize your to-do lists, responsibilities, commitments and personal life in some easy to understand, easy to manage and easy to access way.
9: Learn how to say no.
Don't take on more commitments than you can handle.
10: Take mini-breaks throughout the day.
Feeling overwhelmed? Step away from your desk and go for a five-minute walk. Try to stand up and stretch every hour, and take regular breaks from screen time.

The Attitude of a Winner

The Attitude of a Winner is very unique. They always expect to win in any given situation. They embrace the challenge and stand expecting to win with all of their belief system, courage, and determination. They never plan a path of retreat just in case they don't win.
People with the Winner Attitude do not plan on cancelling their gym membership. When they say they will get into shape, they find every way to get to their desired goal.
They expect to come out of any situation as a winner, and they never let go of this.
Yeah, but...
If it's that simple why doesn't everybody expect to win? What if you end up losing anyway after you expected to win?
First, let go of those questions. Make a decision this very moment. Expect to win at anything that comes your way. When you get prepared for a challenge. Always remember, if you expect to lose, then you automatically will lose.
Being a winner at anything starts with a winning mindset, and the winning mindset doesn't expect to be validated. On the flip side, the validation will come as a result of you making a decision. A decision that you're going to win.
Expecting to win is an ingredient that makes everything possible. Athletes are a great example of winners who expect to win. Muhamed Ali believed he was the greatest before he became the greatest. LeBron James believes he can be the greatest basketball player who ever lived. Always remember, everything in our external world begins in our internal world.
Write down a goal or desire that you have, that requires you to put a lot of effort into it. What is your expected outcome? Do you even believe you can achieve it? Just expect to win and to get to your outcome. Imagine how it will feel when that vision is fulfilled and everyone who ever doubted you is standing in awe and envy.
Imagine how happy you and the people who have faith in you are going to feel when you achieve your goal. Imaging these images until you can feel them throughout your entire body. This is knowing you will win. Perhaps most importantly believing that you will win.
The Standards of a Winner
Anthony Robbins, Life Coach, says that people who have high standards also have high rewards. Now it is easy to determine why people have low rewards.
What causes a person to have low standards? Everyone wants to be happy, healthy, and rich and to have meaningful relationships.
People do not have the type of life they want because they lower their standards.
The problem isn't that people give up right when they're met with failures or discouragement. The real problem is that so many people lower their standards and end up achieving their low goals that won't challenge them
Look at all of the areas of your life and ask yourself if can be better.
There are only these reasons: you're working toward your goal, or you've lowered your standards and settled for what you already have. You didn't give up on it. You just lowered the bar and settled with anything that you were able to achieve.
Very few people are completely failing when it comes to having relationships in their life, but many people still don't have the types of relationships they want. Again, this is because their standards aren't pushing them to have anything better.
These same principle can be applied to any area of your life. Most your life are a representation of the standards you've set for yourself. Take a look at these areas of your life that have not met your expectations and ask the following questions:
Can I become more? Can it be done more efficiently? How can this be done better?
Now, that higher standard might have been what caused you to pick up this book... and that's good. But it's also important that you have a specific standard as to what you want, that you expect to have it, and that you maintain that standard at all times.
No matter what.
Sure, you might need to adjust your plan or timeline along the way (more on this later). But no matter how many adjustments you make in your plan or in your timeline, you must never let go of the original standards upon which you established your expectations to win.

7 Steps to Setting and Achieving Your Goals

There are many ways on achieving your goals. Here are 7 steps to jumpstart toward your goals and dreams.
The Seven Step Process for Setting and Achieving Your Goals.
1. Decide exactly what you want in each area of your life. Be specific!
If you don't know what you want, then how will you know when you have it. You may already have it within your grasp, but if you don't know that it is what you want. You may be coming across your goal soon but you won't see any signs of them anywhere near.
It's like driving on the road and not knowing where you are going. If a sign passes you by saying 'East', then you will pass right by it and keep wondering around wasting fuel and time.
If you want more money, then figure out how much more money you want. People say "I want more money", great here's a $1 get out of here. Of course $1 is not your goal, but what it is $10, $100, etc
2. Write it down, clearly and in detail.
Clarity is Power and the clearer the vision the better chances you have of arriving at your destination. Let's say you are looking for a relationship. You may go out into the dating world and date so many people, but many of them may be a waste of time because you don't know exactly what you are looking for. Taking the time to actually write down and know what type of person you are looking for will help you immensely. Write down your preferences of your ideal partner from personality, ethnicity, race, emotional maturity, to looks if it is something that is a priority.
3. Set a specific deadline. If it is a large goal, break it down into sub-deadlines and write them down in order.
Let's say you want $10,000 extra cash in your savings. Great you have a clear goal, but when will you achieve this? Set an ultimate deadline to your goal. Do you want $10,000 in 40 years, 30 years from now or 6 months from? Be specific and set sub-deadlines or milestones. If you know that in one year you want $10,000, then your milestone in 6 months could be $5,000 saved up.
4. Make a list of everything you can think of that you are going to have to do to achieve your goal. As you think of new items, add them to your list.
How are you going to get there? You know what you want and when you want it. Now how will you get there? Do you need to get a part-time job? Do you need to cut on expenses? Do you need to show your boss you deserve a raise or promotion? Write down an action plan.

What are the sequential steps you must take to get at your goal? If you live in California and you want to get to Oregon and then back to California. You must first go X number of miles North, then X number of miles South. You are not going to go South first then North. Have specific steps in-order to get to your destination.

Going back to $10,000 as your goal. What is one thing you can do right now to that will help you reach your goal? Maybe you should call your cell phone provider and downgrade on your plan. Go grocery shopping, so tomorrow you can start making your own lunch to school/work.

I want this relationship because I will be able to have an intimate relationship with a special person. I want 10k because it will allow me to go to that trip oversees I always wanted.
