While there is nothing wrong with the occasional lazy evening or Sunday afternoon, if it becomes a habit it is not good for you.
Life is for living, get out and live it.
Feeling good about ourselves is important. You need to be happy. When you are happy the energy around you is happy. It becomes infectious. When you smile others smile, when you laugh, others will join in. They don't even need to know why, they are simply laughing because you are. It's a great feeling.
You don't get that if you constantly sit on the couch!
What's on your 'to do' list? Everybody has one. We all have things we want to do. Whether it is in our personal life or a business career. We all have dreams of success in some form.
Wasting time is very easy to do. In fact we can do it without even knowing. We need to train ourselves to value time and use it to benefit our purpose.
Think about how much time you spend working. Now how much time do you spend having fun and doing the things you really want to do?
Now, how many of the things that you want to do actually happen? If you're answering not many, then get off the couch and do some of them.
With careful planning there is no reason why you can't be crossing off lots of things on your 'to do' list. And let's face it, you should be enjoying life more. It can't always be about work.
One of the most important things you need to do to 'get off the couch' is to learn to be organised. Organisational skills are the key to having more time.
There is no such thing as having 'more' time. 24 hours a day. That's it. There is no 'more' time. But with organisation and a plan, you can learn to use your time better.
See, it's not about how much time you have, it's about what you do with the time that matters.
It's about quality not quantity.
What would the point be of having an extra 5 hours per day if you don't get off the couch and do something!
Put your 'to do' list somewhere where you can see it every day and make it your goal to cross something off every month.
It might be something exciting and daring such as jumping from a plane or paragliding, or perhaps something more relaxed and calming such as taking a long walk along the beach.
It's your life, it's your plan, it's your time. Don't waste it.
Get off the couch and do something...
What's the first thing you would do if given the chance right now? You might have one answer, you may have several. Let's get excited about having more time to do all the fun things. You'll be so busy having fun, you'll enjoy the occasional sit back on the couch. (But only to catch your breath!). It's time to redesign your life. Leverage can make it happen.
